Dr. Pepper Museum: Delicious Drinks

Dr. Pepper is the oldest producer of soft beverages concentrates and syrups of the US. It was established in the town of Waco, in Central Texas during the year 1885. The history says that the famous drinks that you can enjoy today were created by a young pharmacist named Charles Alderton who worked for many years in Morrison Store. This guy worked mixing medicines for the clients of Morrison in Waco, but in his free time he enjoyed serving carbonated drinks in sodas. After years he decided to create his own carbonated drink.

He asked the owner of the Morrison Store the opportunity to sell his new drink there. The owner gave him the chance and there is where he started to sell it under the name Dr. Pepper. The origin of this name is imprecise but is still used. Many years after the success of Alderton, the company donated a building to the Chamber of the City of Waco to establish the Dr. Pepper Museum.

The museum opened its door during the year 1991. In that time the building was used by the Free Enterprise Institute, which taught the Texan children about developing, producing and finally marketing new products as Dr. Pepper. Since that date until today, this is the only museum in Texas that offers educational programs that are based in economic principles.

As mentioned above, the museum is located in the town Waco and it is open all days. If you visit this town, do not miss the chance to know this museum and learn a little bit more about the history of the delicious Dr. Pepper’ drinks.
