Kingsville

Texas is a state located in the Southern and Western regions of the United States of America. The state is second-largest in both area and population behind Alaska and California, respectively. The state's name derives from a word in the Caddoan language of the Hasinai. Texas declared its independence from Mexico in 1836 and existed as the independent Republic of Texas for nearly a decade. Texas is internationally known for its energy and aeronautics industries, and for its ship channel at the Port of Houston, the largest in the U.S. in international commerce and the sixth-largest port in the world.

Kingsville is a city in Kleberg County, Texas, United States. The population was 25,575 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Kleberg CountyGR6. Kingsville was formed in 1904 as Henrietta King donated land for the original townsite, which is now located within the heart of the world-famous King Ranch. She inherited the land from Capt. Richard King along with a 500,000 dollars debt. King was extremely instrumental in helping develop the city into a center of agriculture, oil and banking in the South Texas region. She donated land for Catholic, Baptist and Episcopal churches and for what is now Texas A and M University-Kingsville. Kingsville's economy, like much of South Texas, is extremely dependent on agriculture, particularly cattle and citrus.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 35.9 square kilometers. 35.8 square kilometers of it is land and 0.1 kilometers of it is water. The population density was 714.0 square kilometers. The city's public schools are operated by the Kingsville Independent School District. As it is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Texas one of the most visited places amongst the most die-hard travelers the world over.
