Galena Park




Texas is a state located in the Southern and Western regions of the United States of America. The state is second-largest in both area and population behind Alaska and California, respectively. The state's name derives from a word in the Caddoan language of the Hasinai. Texas declared its independence from Mexico in 1836 and existed as the independent Republic of Texas for nearly a decade. Texas is internationally known for its energy and aeronautics industries, and for its ship channel at the Port of Houston, the largest in the U.S. in international commerce and the sixth-largest port in the world.
 
Galena Park is a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. The population was 10,592 at the 2000 census. Galena Park is part of the Houston Metropolitan area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.9 square kilometers, all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 10,592 people, 3,054 households, and 2,461 families residing in the city. The population density was 819.6 square kilometers. There were 3,207 housing units at an average density of 248.1 square kilometers. The racial makeup of the city was 63.35 percent White, 7.65 percent African American, 0.57 percent Native American, 0.40 percent Asian, 0.01 percent Pacific Islander, 24.35 percent from other races and 3.68 percent from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 69.33 percent of the population. As it is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Texas one of the most visited places amongst the most die-hard travelers the world over.
