Dumas is a city in Moore County, Texas, United States. The population was 13,747 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Moore CountyGR6. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.3 square kilometers and 13.3 square kilometers of it is land and 0.1 square kilometers of it is water. The population density was 1,034.6 per square kilometers. There were 5,119 housing units at an average density of 385.3 per square kilometers.
