Colleyville




Texas is a state located in the Southern and Western regions of the United States of America. The state is second-largest in both area and population behind Alaska and California, respectively. The state's name derives from a word in the Caddoan language of the Hasinai. Texas declared its independence from Mexico in 1836 and existed as the independent Republic of Texas for nearly a decade. Texas is internationally known for its energy and aeronautics industries, and for its ship channel at the Port of Houston, the largest in the U.S. in international commerce and the sixth-largest port in the world.
 
Colleyville is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 19,636 at the 2000 census. The Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District, GCISD serves most of Colleyville. GCISD has two high schools Colleyville Heritage, the school that some Colleyville students attend due to district dividing lines, is one of the highest ranked in the country. The school is widely known for the publicity of their 2004 steroids scandal. The school recovered well and is still a high-caliber establishment. The other school is Grapevine High School, which has been achieving recognition for 100 years in 2007.
 
There were 6,406 households out of which 49.8 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them, 85.4 percent were married couples living together, 4.1 percent had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.1 percent were non-families. 7.7 percent of all households were made up of individuals and 1.9 percent had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.06 and the average family size was 3.24. In the city the population was spread out with 31.6 percent under the age of 18, 4.4 percent from 18 to 24, 26.1 percent from 25 to 44, 32.2 percent from 45 to 64, and 5.6 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.7 males.

It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
