Mount Bonnell: Amazing Landscapes
The Mount Bonnell is located in the county Travis in the city of Austin, TX. The mount is a natural limestone formation that raises over 700 feet above the sea level. The mount is called Bonnell in honor of George W. Bonnell who jumped from the peak of the mount to his death. During the years between 1850 and 1860 it was a very famous place which was used as a picnic place, to admire the amazing landscapes of the Austin skyline, the Colorado River and the lake Austin.
There are many different activities that you can do in the mount, for example hiking. This is a very exiting activity because it is totally natural; there are not stairs, if you decide to climb the mount you must go up through the natural stairs to get to the top. Once you get to the top you can admire the places above mentioned. You must bring comfortable clothes and water. You also have to take food and if you want to stay for awhile, is better if you bring your own folding chairs or a cushion. The park is open every day from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the admittance is totally free. If you want to spend a nice weekend with your family, consider the Mount Bonnell as a nice place to visit and stay with your family members, your significant other, friends or whoever you want.
