Fort Lauderdale Resident Launches Artisan Network

Fort Lauderdale woman established a World Wide Web site, titled Fort Lauderdale Craft Mafia, that offers artisans the opportunity to network together and provide independent products and services to the public.

Fort Lauderdale, FL - Christine Klein, a Fort Lauderdale independent businesswoman has established a World Wide Web site that enables local artisan vendors to market themselves and network together using the Internet. The Fort Lauderdale artisan team, offers all shoppers seeking independent products and merchandise the ability to browse locally scheduled events.

In addition to registering new members, the site is designed to offer detailed profiles of active members, including E-Mail addresses, independent web site links, and a brief description of each member's talent. The site also provides an up-to-date, detailed event agenda for local shoppers seeking independent products and merchandise.

The local artisan team, titled Fort Lauderdale Craft Mafia ( FLCM ), is a sister group of a nationally formed organization titled Craft Mafia, which originated in Austin, Texas. FLCM is currently holding open enrollment on the team and welcomes local event invites for Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas.

Klein said she established the site after observing a lack of local leadership in the independent crafting community. "Because I'm an independent artisan and make significant use of the Internet when marketing my own business, I realized the potential of a locally assembled team for helping artisans broaden their business and event options in a medium that is easily accessible. It's rewarding to know that we're not depending on big business. Instead, with our collective talents, we're working together to open doors and accomplish our goals," Klein said.
