Intel Keynote at CONNECTIONS™ to address in-home entertainment experience
Dallas, TX March 7, 2006 — CONNECTIONS™ announced today that William O. Leszinske, Jr., General Manager, Networked Media Platform Group, Intel Corp., will provide the closing Keynote for the event’s second day, May 3, 2006, at 3:45 p.m.
CONNECTIONS™: The Digital Home Conference and Showcase will take place at the Santa Clara Convention Center, May 2-4, 2006. In his keynote, Linking the Emerging Platforms in the Digital Home, Leszinske will look inside the digital home and discuss the role of entertainment PCs, digital TVs, and networked media products, including successful strategies for linking these platforms to deliver a rich in-home entertainment experience.
CONNECTIONS™, produced by Parks Associates in partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association, is the largest executive conference and showcase dedicated to advanced digital lifestyle solutions for residential and mobile environments. This year’s conference topics include digital entertainment, mobile platforms & services, home networking & infrastructure, home management & digital health, and broadband & IP services.
Recent research from Parks Associates reveals that online entertainment revenues will grow from $2.4 billion in 2006 to nearly $9 billion in 2010. Critical to this growth is broadband usage and innovations in digital entertainment platforms and content service.
“Intel has been a strong leader and advocate of the digital-living vision for many years now, tackling the difficult task of combining connectivity with consumer needs on multiple levels, from digital entertainment to healthcare,” said Stuart Sikes, president of Parks Associates. “Intel’s insight will be a great benefit to our audience this year as we see more and more devices and environments added to the digital home.”
Bill Leszinske is the general manager of the Networked Media Platform Group within Intel Corporation's Digital Home Group. He previously served as the Intel® Viiv™ technology platform manager. Leszinske joined Intel in 1989 and holds a BS in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University.
