North Richland Hills




Texas is a state located in the Southern and Western regions of the United States of America. The state is second-largest in both area and population behind Alaska and California, respectively. The state's name derives from a word in the Caddoan language of the Hasinai. Texas declared its independence from Mexico in 1836 and existed as the independent Republic of Texas for nearly a decade. Texas is internationally known for its energy and aeronautics industries, and for its ship channel at the Port of Houston, the largest in the U.S. in international commerce and the sixth-largest port in the world.
 
North Richland Hills is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population of the city was 55,635 as of the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 47.2 square kilometers. About 47.2 square kilometers of its area is covered by land and 0.1 square kilometers by water.
 
Conveniently located between Dallas and Fort Worth, North Richland Hills is the city of choice to live, work and play. Their community offers attractive neighborhoods, abundant recreational, educational and cultural opportunities, diverse businesses and industries, excellent medical services, fine dining and convenient shopping.
 
The city of North Richland Hills is located in North Central Texas in Tarrant County, approximately eight miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth off North East. The community began when W.S. Peters agreed to bring 600 families into the area within a three-year period as part of a land grant. Families began arriving in the summer of 1848. In 1849, Tarrant county was established and named for General Edward H. Tarrant. The community of Birdville which is adjacent to what is now North Richland Hills' southwest boundary was named the first county seat. The area remained a rural farming and ranching community for more than 100 years.

The North Richland hills cultural arts division is dedicated to bringing the arts to the community in an affordable and accessible way to all people of all walks of life. Presently, North Richland Hills experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Texas.
